Animal lovers get ready for Pooches at Play Series 3

Pooches at Play Series 3

Saturday 1st September not only marks the start of Spring, but it also means that Pooches at Play Series 3 will hit your TV screens and we can’t wait to share our new stories with you.

The show starts at 3pm Saturdays on Channel TEN (though it does always start about 5 minutes early) and encores on Sundays on Channel ONE at 4:30pm.  You can of course also stream it live or watch it later on TENplay.com.au

This time though, we’re not just bringing you useful tips and information about caring for your dogs, but we’re introducing many other companion animal stories into the mix to help spread the love and pet care tips for our other furry friends including birds, fish, cats, horses, rabbits and much more.

Whilst dogs continue to remain Australia’s most popular pet (38%*), closely followed by our feline friends (29%*), many households have more than one dog, cat, fish, bird, small mammal, reptile or other family pet, making this new series of Pooches at Play perfect for every pet parent.

We’ve had a lot of fun filming this series too and I must admit there are many puns and gags throughout, as Gyton and I tried to out-do each other coming up with something we hadn’t yet thought of before.

I definitely must concede the title of best joker on set to him however (don’t tell Gyton I said that though!) as his list of chicken names he has planned for his brood of backyard chickens was rather impressive.   You’ll have to tune in to find out some of the very funny and cool names he has thought up.

Throughout the 8 half hour weekly episodes we will explore everything from overweight dogs, treating snake bites, pet anxiety, the dos and don’ts of wild-bird feeding; right through to caring for backyard chickens, animal boarding, weekly training and behaviour tips, as well as pet-friendly travel ideas.

We get up close and personal with a stunning Arabian warmblood stallion, Fersace FF, an 80 -year-old sulphur-crested rescue cockatoo called Joe plus Lulu the bearded dragon, arguably one of the most popular breeds of pet reptiles.

Audiences will also meet some of Australia’s smartest pets showing off their tricks in our new ‘Smart Pets’ weekly segment, and resident Vet, Dr Melissa Meehan also returns to share important veterinarian advice.

We will also be launching a Smart Pets competition that will run across the series so that you can enter your own pet and their trick, skill or special talent for the chance to win a pawsome $2500 prize pack.   You’ll have to be watching this coming Saturday to find out how to enter and get some inspiration from those smart pets we’ll be featuring each week.

Without the support of our Major Sponsors PETstock, and Series Sponsors Big Dog Pet Foods, National Dog Trainers Federation and  Take Your Pet and our other in-show segment sponsors we wouldn’t be able to bring Pooches at Play to your screens.

These are all great Australian businesses so your support for their products and services helps ensure we can continue to share the important information and advice that you will hear in the show.

If you like watching please let your friends and family know and, even if you’re not at home to watch, set the recorder or watch it online next Saturday at 3pm.

Thanks for the support and we hope you enjoy it from all of the team at PoochesHQ.
